Glenbard South's Annual Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show

Yesterday I had the fun opportunity of photographing Glenbard South's Annual Spring Luncheon & Fashion Show. I had such a blast meeting all the senior's and taking fun photos before they went on stage as well as when they did their cat walks and dances. It was so special to have been asked to be there, for such a special day for them.

Hinsdale Central Red Devil 5K Fun Run/Walk

This Sunday I had the honor of photographing the Second Annual Fun Run, as I did last year. WOW!! What a year it's been since then! I recognized some of the runners from last year who were out again to improve their times but mostly to have a great time! Rick Lapinski did a great job working out all the details and thanks to his new wife for helping out as well. Lots of fun was had by all despite a little rain.

Taylor took us by Storm

So the last time Taylor was on the schedule it was on a day that was doomed to storm and rain, so we put it off, until today. What a fun one to shoot. Taylor's style and sweet spirit was fun! It was so great to hear about her dancing, and her care for the little one she babysits. 

I adore!! the last two shots for her awesome eyes and the texture of the grass and the weeds on the brick! Nice!

Becca Brought her smile!

The shoot with Becca was amazing! She was so high energy that it was a blast! Lots of cute faces, lots of smiles, lots of laughs. What a cool girl! I first met Becca when I photographed her school's play Blithe Spirit, so it was great to see her again!

Plain Jane Molly Grace

So... I always say to the girls how "Plain Jane" I feel on our shoot days. For the reasons being, that ahhh 

1.) You girls look amazing!!! Anna does an amazing job pulling out your best features! And you girls Blossom in front of us and rock it! 

And 2.) Well, when you shoot like I do you, you lay down in the mud, plow through the weeds and brush, and you get a little dirty. :) So I can't wear my best stuff or I'd ruin all of it.  And for those of you that know me well, I chilly more than normal ( I am sure not in Savannah anymore ) so I like to wear sweaters or long sleeves to keep me warm and cozy even on nice days.

I got to thinking about this the other day... that I wanted to explain on some level to you how feeling "Plain Jane" can affect me, cause it does I am a girl, I like to look cute, naturally. The thing is... I allow myself to notice it, acknowledge it and then forget about it, and somehow through out the course of the shoot, I get lost, I totally loose myself in the joy of what I am doing and creating, by capturing your beauty, and end up... totally feeling gorgeous. And it is the greatest gift, a gift unto myself, to get lost, to love on life with abandon and to celebrate you my perfect subjects! And that is the beauty of what I do!

So yeah, sometimes I might look like a dork on our shoot, and that's ok with me, because I promise I don't feel, or if I did I am over it. :) And currently I am working with my crew to come up with some stylish grungy options, so hopefully... I'll start off a little cuter!:)

Check out Samantha's eyes

Samantha... was a delight and a jewel to hang out with yesterday. What a great and quality girl. I loved her eyes, her hair, and her skin tone, but mostly just her relaxed and calm presence. It made for great pictures and moments.

Susanna Brought the Sunset in her Sofia Session

Susanna looked amazing today! Ahh, and what glorious sun we got to play in during the last part of her session! Truly, Susanna's inner peace and beauty came out in her session. It's easy to tell just by glancing at the first pic, total contentment and sincerity. Love it! This is why I do what I do!

Joy has puppy love and kitty babies

Joy wanted to have puppy's in her senior pictures, so her amazing mom researched some spots where we could go on Saturday. Kitty from the West Suburban Humane Society welcomed us in! Look at these sweet little buddies! :) And holding the four day old kittens was amazing! Doesn't Joy look like snow white? Beautiful!

Brittney was Stunning

 I was excited to photograph Brittney as last year I had photographed her sister, so I had somewhat of an idea as to her style. Yet at the same time, having sisters of my own... all sisters are different and so unique. We found this beautiful, freshly burnt land, and the way that the day was steamy and overcast was perfect! The way it went with Brittney's hair and skin tone, was an amazing contrast. What a beautiful moment in time!

Jamie is untouchable

I so enjoyed hanging out in the bright and early morning this Saturday with Jamie and her mom. This was a session I had been looking forward to because of this crazy location I had spotted last year but had never used before. Jamie did amazing, you could tell that all her modeling and acting experience allowed for me to push my work to another level with her shoot.

I love her perfect skin, and lashes in the first two shoots. We joked through out the session about a friend of hers that will tell her on day's when she looks super cute or hot he'll say, "well know your "Unapproachable" and he won't talk to her that day. Isn't that super funny! Well, now, I guess you will know I've done my job if when he sees these he's  absolutely leave him speechless when h

Louisa... the Australian Beauty

OK So here we are with our dream session! One that I have been waiting for since I started this business. Louisa totally put her trust in us, and let Anna, my make up artist go crazy... and really create, something. I had met Louisa and when I first met her I knew that she would blossom with a Sofia Session. I was so excited to incorporate her style into the images. Very Australian, loved the tones of white and cream and brown... it reminded me of a what a classic beauty would wear on a Safari. Ahhh.... I loved the blossoms that gathered around her face and the way she fit perfectly in the tree.

This Session was out my dreams for sure!

Austin Session was Ambercombie worthy!

Yesterday was such a beautiful and warm day! I so enjoyed hanging out with Austin. Austin  is about the tallest hockey player I've meet, and I would also have to say the sweetest. Austin's kind demeanor, makes him the absolute gentleman! He was so nice he even carried my stool around town so I could get some shots from above.

Megan Stepped into perfect light

Megan had this amazing golden light at the end of her session. It only highlighted and enhanced her crystal blue eyes. And the wind worked in our favor and kept her hair swept up perfectly to frame her face just so - all day. Megan Plays for Naperville Central which so fun to me to incorporate her basketball in the session. I have such an admiration for serious athletes (probably cause I am so the opposite) and you can tell Megan loves the sport! She is just glowing with strength, beauty, and confidence.

Elizabeth Sofia Princess

What a fun and beautiful day we had with Elizabeth and her mom Christen's ( whose birthday it was) and grandmother Jerry. We had fun with the pink, and then found another perfect pink to match. We stopped for some yummy sweet treats too! To give us a little more energy! I am loving, her perfect hair that frames her face in the red jacket. AND... I love the last image, I have a feeling to that Elizabeth will adore it too!

2010 Senior Model Claudia

Wow! Seriously after yesterday I just felt like the luckiest girl in the world. What an amazing session. Beautiful. Great light! Character, Fashion, Style, Inner Beauty... it was all there. What a wonderful day! Look at her awesome leap by the tree and her awesome look by the barn in her soon to be worn again Prom Dress. Amazing! This Sofia Session was perfect. Generally the whole day was A GIFT!

2010 Senior Model Trista

Wow! Amazing! I love Trista's Dance style and hip hop girl that came out in the Urban part of our session. Check out her dance leap in her lyrical outfit. I love working with Dancers! AND check out her truly amazing Glam look in her green and black dresses. This girl rocked her Gwen Session!

2010 Senior Model Allie!

Allie did amazing. Words are not really enough to describe her photo's. I loved Allie's style and inner beauty that blossomed before us! This Sofia the fashionista session brought her inner Model out to play!

Hillary is Gorgeous!

I loved yesterday's shoot with Hillary and her horse Dart. It's amazing to me to see the love and care she has for her horse. What an amazing creature he is! And what a stylish girl she is! Her mom referred to Hillary as a "Barn-e"... if this is the life of a "Barn-e" I'd take it!! It's awesome to see her living the life she loves, and awesome to see her parents joy in watching her blossom, by supporting her loves of her life.
