Just another day in Chitown

Last Sunday, I joined a group of Female Photographers, called Females in Focus, for a photo shoot. It was a beautiful day! And the trip to the city gave me a new perspective and got me excited for the summer. The models for the shoot were amazing, I loved the vintage look of the girls! And ironically enough on the streets of Chicago there was a movie being filmed. I did hear that it was a movie with Jonny Depp. Oh I love Chicago, this is just another fun reason! So we were lucky enough to snag the use of the car, it was a great day in the city!

Vrai Wedding Glen & Michelle

This couple was super cute together and a fun match. I loved seeing their love for eachother, which could be so clearly seen in a glance, but mostly in the fact that they just purely had fun together.

A Trash the Dress session for the best of friends

Tara and Priyanka spent the morning with me before they headed to prom on a beautiful boat in the city. They looked amazing, props to Mis Anna my make up artist! I totally felt like I was hanging out with Liv Tyler, and Priayanka had Princess Jasmine eyes. I was so glad to have fun with them before they went out for a moonlight boat ride under the stars, I can't wait to hear all about it!

Oswego East High School's performance of Les Miserables

Truly, this was a huge highlight for me this year. I was super lucky to get an all access pass to document this awesome production, and to hang out with these super talented students. They are awesome, and they know it! I really want to thank Brian and Jamie Fruits for letting me hang out. I have never seen an entire cast and crew have so much respect and admiration for a director. I also so moved by how tight this cast was, and how they worked perfectly together as a team, and supported each other.
Thank you so much, you guy's are the best!

Hinsdale Centrals First Ever Red Devil 5K Fun Run & Walk

A couple Sunday's ago, I got up pretty early and drove down to Hinsdale Central's  First Ever Red Devil 5K Fun Run & Walk. It was a beautiful morning as you can see the sky is so gorgeous, and it was so fun to see people participating together. Thanks to Rick Lapinski for all the work he put into the event to make it so organized and fun. I look forward to being there next year!

Youth Art Festival 2008

On April 19th, the College Church hosted it's first ever Youth Art Festival. Jonathan Cummings, the college church youth pastor and his staff, put a ton of work into event, and it was a huge success. There was live ceramic throwing, lice drawing by Timothy Botts, dancing and music performances. It was an awesome time, i loved meeting everyone and taking some really fun portraits!

Another fun wedding

We had such a fun wedding this weekend with an awesome couple, whose love for each other inspired me.

Amy's senior model shoot

My session with Amy was so inspirational to me. It was awesome to see Amy really become alive in front of the camera and discover so many sides of her personality. While Anna did Amy's second look of make up, I sat and talked with Amy. (while peeking at some of my shots) Amy is such a strong girl, she runs track, plays basketball, and I loved hearing about the quality time that she and her family spends doing activities together. We talked about how our session brought out a side of her, she didn't normally see, and how that discovery was so important at this point in her life, especially as she embarks upon her senior year and all big things that will happen. Both Anna and I adored Amy and the chance to really hang out with her and make some amazing images. My time with her was so inspiring, and truly I felt that afternoon - this is why I do, what I do.

Vrai Wedding Jill & Kevin

Last Saturday Kristina Carter and I
got to spend the day with Jill & Kevin and photographed their beautiful day. I love this little moment, the mom pointing and is trying to get the ringbear, to place one on the flower girl. It cracks me up, ahh young love.
And I love this tree shot. See more pic's of the day on www.vraiphoto.blogspot.com - you got to check out my shot of the guys!

Ashley's senior model shoot - fashionista style

Last sunday, I photographed Ashley at Danada House. Ashley wanted to incorporate her country style and love of horses in her senior pictures. Let me just say, as a Texan myself, country, is plain hot, and this country girl rocked this photo shoot. I seriously loved each moment out in the field, and it felt great to be in the sun. I have to admit, I had no problem laying in the grass or in the mud or any kind of prickly things but when I came home I seriously pulled a tick out of my hair, for real. It reminds me of that Brad Paisley song, "I'd like to check you for ticks". Yes, finding a tick in my hair was totally gross, but worth it, for images like these! Ashley did a beautiful job, this is gonna be a great year for her.
